Threshold

After having been engaged in two rather big productions, our first group piece A Very Eye (2022) and the interdisciplinary performance Dehors est blanc (2023), we feel the need to come back to a more simple and direct form. With Threshold we want to resume our physical work together in the studio and to continue developing our own language, body after body, while for the first time linking our music and dance practices. Considering that our previous works have been mainly characterized by continuity and graduation, we will approach this research with the desire for a rather fragmented and non-linear writing method, tackling the subject of erasure.

Tumbleweed’s fourth creation, Threshold is thought as a choreographic duo scattered across time ; they take turns and support each other, without ever aligning. Intertwined in two distinct scores, they are connected to each other by a lingering presence. The relationship between the two no longer embodies a center but is revealed only by the cutting line that separates them, and by the echoes of space and time. Threshold is a piece stretched into the void, a reminder of the essential role of the environment in the emergence of any form of relationship.
